1. What did you do before joining Equinox?
I graduated from École Centrale in Lyon in 1998, and then worked for two years at an IT services company. I then spent three years at an organizational and management consulting firm, mainly providing support to investment banks. I joined Equinox in 2004.
2. Why did you decide to join Equinox Consulting?
I had previously worked for large consulting firms and wanted more freedom — and wanted to get more out of my career. Equinox was just starting out at the time, and gave me what I was looking for. The firm was young, open to different backgrounds, offered good career opportunities, and had a distinctly entrepreneurial spirit, not to mention solid banking industry know-how. The decision to come to Equinox was not an easy one, but has turned out to be more than worth it.
3. What do you currently do at Equinox Consulting?
For the past several months I have been part of a team assigned to the finance department of a top-tier French bank. The project entails business process optimization and information systems restructuring for the bank’s trading activities. There is a lot of responsibility involved, and the expectations for the project are high: The security of the bank’s front-office to accounting process must be ensured and tracking of risks and results enhanced. A team of consultants from Equinox has been working shoulder-to-shoulder with a number of the bank’s business units every day, which has made this particularly demanding assignment extremely interesting and enriching.
4. What do you like best about working at Equinox Consulting?
The firm has been able to hold onto its core values, even though the number of employees has grown tenfold over the past four years. It still has that small-business feel, where each individual is valued and there is a great deal of initiative. Also, I can see that new employees become part of the team now just as quickly as they did in the early years. The only real change is in how knowledge is shared. Equinox’s growth has been good for all of us because it has brought in a wealth of new experience.
5. What do you do when you are not at work?
Mostly sports like golf and running, but I also like to travel — like a lot of my colleagues at the firm.
