The hiring process

The Equinox hiring process usually involves three interviews: one with a consultant, one with a manager, and one with a partner. The entire process takes about three weeks. We do our best to review applications as quickly as possible and keep applicants informed at each stage of the hiring process.

The firm likes to get to know potential future colleagues personally, so as to determine whether they share our values. However, we do not believe in asking trick questions during job interviews; we prefer that applicants be themselves and reveal what makes them unique.

How to prepare for an interview with Equinox Consulting

The easiest way to learn more about the firm is by visiting our website. This will provide you with all the basic facts and information about Equinox. We also encourage you to try to learn more about the firm through other channels, such as your school alumni network.

You should also reflect on why you are applying to Equinox, and be prepared to discuss your prior experience. The following questions will help you prepare:

  • How would a consulting position help me further my career goals?
  • Why do I want to work for Equinox Consulting?
  • Can I briefly summarize each of my prior work experience?
  • What is the common thread linking my previous work experiences?
  • What did I gain from past positions?
  • What makes me unique?

During the actual interview, it is best to avoid simply reciting a prepared statement. You should be clear and concise, use active listening skills, and, above all, be yourself.

All interviews are conducted by Equinox consultants. These interviewers will be happy to provide honest answers to your questions, be they general questions about consulting or more specific questions about the Equinox approach to the consulting business.

What kind of career opportunities does Equinox Consulting offer?

Equinox Consulting rewards individual initiative. Our consultants are free to shape their own career paths according to their skills and personal preferences. The firm encourages this by valuing excellence, involvement, and ambition.

For instance, a junior consultant who demonstrates mastery of the relevant techniques and the capacity to work independently will rapidly be entrusted with increasing responsibility within the firm.

Does Equinox hire consultants for specific projects?

Equinox does not hire consultants for specific projects. However, we are always seeking applicants that demonstrate high potential. Our consultants are assigned to a variety of different types of projects.

Does Equinox offer student internships?

Every year Equinox Consulting offers several internship positions to third-year business or engineering students. For more information, please see our hiring section of the website for current internship positions.

What is Equinox’s compensation policy?

All Equinox Consulting employees receive a fixed salary over twelve months. Managers also receive a bonus.

Equinox also has a profit-sharing program for all consultants. Consultants can opt to invest their profit-sharing bonus in the company’s employee savings plan, in which case they will receive a matching contribution.
